Lordy, lordy. I hardly know what to say.
When I posted the challenge for any one of you brave readers to make the Souper Cheesecake, it was merely an intellectual exercise. To this day, I don't know anyone who actually made it or even seriously contemplated making a cheesecake that contained Campbell's Condensed Cheddar Cheese Soup. At the time, fearless commenter Lester Nelson bravely left a note that read "I'll try it out and let you know what I think ..." and was never heard from again.
And now here we face the goodies-from-cheese situation again, this time in the form of fudge made of Velveeta processed cheese. No, not cheese - cheese food. What other edible has to identify itelf as "food" just to be sure you know what to do with it? Ever heard anyone say "meat food" or "Cheerios food"? No, I didn't think so. The reason is that you look at it, you know it's food. With Velveeta, well ... there's a reason they have to make sure that you know it's cheese food.
This fudge was actually made by a real live person, and she made it more than once, too. Go figure. Read the recipe, make the fudge and then decide if you can be as brave as all that. Don't thank me, thank Kitchenlogic, whose name couldn't be more ironic in light of this concoction.
VELVEETA FUDGE
Spray a 9 x 13 inch cake pan with PAM (imitation cooking spray)
Ingredients:
1/2 pound Velveeta
1/2 pound butter
1/2 Tbsp. vanilla
1 2lb. bag of powdered sugar
1/2 cup cocoa powder
Nuts, if desired
Melt Velveeta and butter on top of stove (preferrably in a pan. Velveeta is shapely but it won't stay together when heat is applied). When melting is done, pour in remaining ingredients and mix using a hand mixer. Pour into pan and chill.
Look, you're on your own with this one. I'm only reporting it here in the interest of amusing information.
if you sprinkle the finished concoction with powdered sugar, you may just get away with it.. ;-)

I have seen meat food. It comes in a can and is called "Libby's Potted Meat Food Product." I think
its supposed to be like Vienna Sausages but I was too afraid to buy it to have a look.

Granted, you can take the girl out of Texas but you can't take the Texas out of the girl, but I have had Velveeta fudge before and it's surprisingly creamy and delicious....though I don't remember there being THAT much velveeta in the recipe the little squares came with.

I would have to agree with Stacy. I will visit your site often and post if there are no more like this one. Of coarse, this could be the "treat" I give to my kids when they are acting out. :)

Hi, I have eaten Velveeta Fudge and it is very good. I, too, thought... What??? But it is wonderful.

I have tried this, actually, and once you get past the idea of it, it is quite tasty!

Been searching for a couple for the Velveeta Fudge recipe. Have made it. Really good!

Re: Libby's Potted Meat Food Product - it's peppery and pungent and rather greasy. Not bad on a cracker with an ice cold beer chaser - but it's about as un-Kosher as "food" gets.

I have just made this after watching Paula Deen on Food Network. I think the taste is very good. My family loved it! and it was sooo easy to make. Yes..you have to blot the extra butter from the top.

This type of Fudge has been made in my family for ages. I can remember being 4 years old and having my first bite of it (I am 25 now). It really is great Fudge. It comes out really creamy, be warned though...it is VERY RICH. One small square is more than enough. You can not taste the cheese, all you taste is sweet.

I've been using this recipe since I was a little girl and can contest that it is absolutely delicious! Recently I made it to bring to some friends of mine at work because like I was in the beginning, they were very judgemental. Let me just say that I made two pans of it for one night, and it was all gone by the morning!

we tried this fudge. its really good.
who would have ever guessed a cheese food could be so good.
I could taste a hint of cheese , reminded me of possibly a cream cheese.
but the cocoa, sugar and nuts gave it a true fudge taste.
but it was good and worth trying .

This is actually a very yummy fudge indeed. I have made variations on it, adding some Nutella, or adding butter flavoring (like Crazy Mamie fudge). But in any case... it's delish!

I have made this several times and everyone loves it. I never tell anyone until they try it...the sound of it takes away from the taste and it is unfair to judge this unless you try it. It is VERY SWEET though....that is why 3 to 5 lbs of this is more than enough to share!
Try it....It is worth the money and effort to make it. Very easy and very good.
I also make the fudge on the cocoa can...and I have to admit...I love that old fashioned recipe that you cook better than ANY fudge recipe.....but in a hurry...this velvetta fudge is really good!

I first tried Velveeta cheese fudge at a birthday party and it is wonderful. I plan on making some to take to my in-laws for Thanksgiving. I will wait until after they have tried it to let them know what ingredients I used. I think the people who posted a negative comment didn't try it.

Paula Deen was just on Ellen. She made the Velveeta Fudge, rolled it into balls, chilled it, put it on a stick, dipped it in melted caramel, dipped that into white chocolate and then chopped peanuts.
Ellen stood in disbelief, took a bite and loved it.
But then Ellen's a southern gal too.
This foodie is sold, and gettin on the orange cheese food candy band wagon.
