I prepared for yesterday's weather prediction of high winds and heavy rains by taking down my patio umbrella, gathering the furniture cushions under the gazebo and moving some plants from their stands to the floor. Then I went out for some fun- a swing through the the local Christmas Tree Shop, then some grub at Carrabba's and a completely sybaritic indulgence of a stop for something a non-nutritious with a high calorie count and an even higher guilt factor.
The worst weather-related thing that happened to me is that I had to turn my wipers on high while I was driving from Carraba's to Dunkin' Donuts. The worst thing that happened to me overall is that Carrabba's no longer has the Spicy Lentil Soup on the menu.
Then, this morning, I found that one of my chair pads got dripped on.
I note this in my Extreme Weather file for future reference.
A chair on our deck was blown approximately two feet from its normal position. Dat's it.

Count your blessings.
I called FEMA a week ago Friday that somebody needed to put all my stuff up before Gustav hit and NOBODY came. I had to do it myself. I still had the bird-baffle blown out my chimbly and a bunch of shingles ripped off, branches and leaves ALL OVER my yard and in my flowerbeds and no electricity for FIVE WHOLE DAYS. I had to make coffee on my gas stove in an old (used) French drip pot. Wednesday, I had to put my mailbox back on the post By. My. Self. and FEMA STILL hasn't sent me a check nor given me any free shit.
Bastids are just worthless, you hear me?

Surely you had a downed pine needle or two?
What's UP with the menu deletions at Carrabba's AND Outback? Simplification is fine, but damn, the menus are getting pretty thin. Please explain this trend to me someday when we're all not so busy.
